Zoe was elected to the Board by Members at our 2005 AGM and is one of our On-Island Trustees.

Zoe moved to Scilly in 2002 with her husband Ben to take over the day to day running of Churchtown Farm from Ben's parents; Andrew and Hilary Julian.

At Churchtown they sell all the flowers grown on the farm and those of other flower farms direct as postal gift boxes. They also have two holiday lets and a small beef herd.

Before moving to Scilly, Zoe studied Countryside Management at Wye College, University of London followed by a PGCE at the University of Cambridge and further postgraduate teaching qualifications at the University of Sussex. She then worked as a teacher for eight years before moving to Scilly.

Ben and Zoe very much value our unique island home and recognise how special the environment of Scilly is. They have always tried to farm in a way that is sensitive to the environment but at the same time being progressive and innovative.

Churchtown Farm was the first farm on Scilly to enter into a higher level stewardship scheme, in 2011, and they work closely with the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust to deliver conservation grazing on St Martin's.

Zoe became a Trustee after responding to an advert for new Trustees. She wanted to become a Trustee as she felt she could bring an understanding of land management to the Board.

Zoe held the post of Chair from September 2016 to October 2019.
