The Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust is a locally-run nature conservation charity which champions nature in the Isles of Scilly. We protect, restore and create sustainable, nature-rich habitats across more than 50% of the islands, whilst promoting the enjoyment, appreciation, and value of our landscapes and nature.

We are looking for permanent full-time residents of the Isles of Scilly to join our voluntary Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the charity and we are looking for people who are passionate about the islands and our natural environment. You don’t need previous experience of being a Trustee or to be a specialist in any particular area; your enthusiasm and commitment to the islands and the charity are what count the most! We would also welcome interest from those who are aged 18-35.

As a Trustee you will have the opportunity to:

◊Make strategic decisions to influence the charity’s development;
◊Gain new skills;
◊Participate in Trustee training;
◊Network with like-minded individuals;
◊Make a difference to where you live.

Trustees meet 5 times a year. 3 meetings are held virtually (via Zoom) on weekday evenings between 7pm and 9pm. Twice a year Trustees meet in person which often includes a morning or afternoon strategy session and an optional evening social. Being a Trustee isn’t just limited to meetings, as ad hoc activity happens throughout the year, primarily by email.  The role of Trustee is voluntary and unpaid.
