Trish was elected to the Board by Members at our 2017 AGM, following being co-opted in November 2016, and is one of our On-Island Trustees.

Trish was born and raised on the north coast of Northern Ireland, daughter of a salmon fisherman. She left to study Physics at Aberdeen University.

After graduation and following jobs in accountancy and education she gained a postgrad in Careers Guidance and worked for the Careers Service and Connexions for many years and continues that work on the islands at Lifelong Learning.

Trish has lived in a variety of places across the UK including London, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Cornwall.

Having met John, Trish moved to St. Agnes in 2008. As well as working for the Council, she is a volunteer co-ordinator for the Seabird Recovery Project and runs a small weaving business from the Island Hall.

Loves:  Airy places where the wind blows (whether mountain or sea)

Hates:  Our environment being taken for granted.  And butter beans!

Favourite Scilly place: Covean, on St Agnes

Animal I would most like to see in the wild:  Wolves

“I hope I can bring a strategic eye and a listening ear to the Wildlife Trust and also an enthusiasm for education and promoting the rare resources that we have on Scilly. With cuts in funding we are heading into a challenging times but with the enthusiasm of staff and members I am sure solutions can be found."
