The expertise of the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers lie in land management. With responsibility for 64% of Scilly’s landmass, our work involves managing habitats so that they are in the right condition for wildlife to thrive.
Sadly nature is cruel and wildlife can get injured and ultimately die. Regrettably, none of our staff or volunteers are trained in veterinary science and we do not have any facilities to care for injured wild animals or birds.
The Isles of Scilly are too small to have an independent wildlife hospital, but we do have a Vet – Heike Dorn who can be contacted on 01720 423667. Please look at the RSPCA’s website for further details of how to deal with injured wildlife on the land.
If you find a live injured marine mammal (i.e seal, whale or dolphin) please contact the British Divers Marine Life Rescue. If you find a dead marine mammal, please call the Marine Strandings Network.
Please read our policy on dead marine mammals
