Bat seen flying during the day on Tresco.

Amy Lewis captured these images of a bat flying in daylight on the island of Tresco.

Recently on the island of Tresco near the Abbey Gardens a bat has been seen in broad daylight, as seen here in these images taken by Amy Lewis. As is evident from the images, it appears that the bat has a damaged wing. Though we’re unsure as to how the bat has suffered this damage, it is likely that as a result it has been unable to feed sufficiently at night, and so must resort to feeding in the day as well! Fascinating behaviour, and some lovely images kindly sent through to us at the Isles of Scilly Bat Group by Amy.
