The Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust successfully bid for AONB funds through the Council of the Isles of Scilly in late 2014.

The funding will provide physical access improvements to all islands such as coastal path repair and installation of boardwalks along with interpretation of the islands nature and landscapes through various media. Access & Engagement Officer for the Trust, Gemma Bowcock, would like to hear islander’s ideas about how AONB funding can be used to repair and improve pathways across the islands. Work such as installing steps on steep and eroded pathways to make them safer and repair of coastal paths which have suffered erosion in storms are all works which the Trust’s Estate Ranger team can carry out.

The Trust would love to hear islander’s ideas for repair work on St Mary’s and the off-islands; these can be reported to Gemma via e-mail gemmabowcock@ios-wildlifetrust.org.uk , phone – 07824564950 or via the Trust’s Facebook & Twitter accounts.
