The Eastern Isles

This group of islands are home to a wealth of wildlife and archaeology. It is one of the best places to spot seals hauled out on rocks, hunting or just sleeping.

  • Little Ganilly Little Ganilly is an uninhabited small island in the Eastern Isles. On Little Ganilly there is a prehistoric settlement including two hut circles and a field system.
  • Nournour Nornour is an uninhabited island which makes up part of the Eastern Isles. There is a prehistoric settlement situated just above high water and evidence shows that parts of this settlement were reused in the Romano-British period for religious purposes.
