Funding 'The Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust'

Various components of the Trust's land management work are funded by national agencies.

For example, English Nature funds the Reserves Enhancement Scheme, which includes several sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and DEFRA (formerly MAFF) fund the Countryside Stewardship Scheme and various footpath improvement and maintenance projects. They have also contributed hugely to the restoration of the Woolpack Battery
Hitherto, the Isles of Scilly Environmental Trust relied on donations from individuals and charitable foundation for its core income.
As a Wildlife Trust, it is currently promoting a membership scheme designed to provide the funding to support the employment of staff and to enable it to carry out its essential conservation work.
The Trust is also currently preparing bids for grants under the European Union Objective 1 initiative.
