12 days of Christmas tree trail

12 days of Christmas tree trail

Find all our '12 days of Christmas' trees over the festive period! Pick up an activity trail leaflet to complete or simply have fun exploring St Mary's while looking out for our trees lit by solar-power for extra evening glow!

Trail activity leaflets are available from both Mumford's in town and from Five Island's Academy St Mary's base. Each tree is themed and has a hidden letter to find - all 12 letters spell out a festive phrase - competed trail leaflets can be returned to Mumford's for a sweet reward!

How we made the trees

Our trees are made from recyled wooden pallets donated by Council of the Isles of Scilly, Home Hardware and Richard Hand. The Scilly Men's Shed turned the pallets into 12 spectacular Christmas trees and these were painted by lots of lovely volunteers!

The lights are solar-powered so don't use any electricity and will fade over each night, recharging in the day. Pupils at Five Islands Academy bases created fabulous decorations for the trees based on the 12 Scilly days of Christmas above.

Special thanks

This community project wouldn't have been possible without the creativity, time and effort of the Scilly Men's Shed, pupils at Five Island's Academy and all our wonderful volunteers. We want to thank the Council of the Isles of Scilly, Island's Partnership and Mumford's for their support throughout.

You can download the trail activity leaflet and map or pick one up from Mumford's.
