Following on from this years success the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series is returning to Scilly in 2017 and we are pleased to announce that not only are they once again liaising closely with the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust regarding the race route but we are also their charity partner.

"The Isles of Scilly is a place which we did not think existed. It looks like the lost world of Atlantis with clear, beautiful water, pristine beaches and ancient stone walls. For us it is a dream come true after searching in many places for our home in the UK."

ÖTILLÖ organisers Mats & Michael have really shown their events commitment to the natural environment and our Islands by supporting the Wildlife Trust again this year.

As in 2016, ÖTILLÖ will make a donation to the Trust on behalf of each participating team in recognition of the Trust's ongoing work and, in particular, the work we carry out every year to ensure our Islands' paths are clear and historic sites are accessible.

Following discussions with Trust CEO, Sarah Mason, ÖTILLÖ have raised the bar even further to support the Wildife Trust in their 2017 events programme and campaign against plastic and marine debris.

Today ÖTILLÖ have announced that not only are all 2017 racers being asked to participate in a beach cleaning activity on the Friday prior to the swimrun event but they are also being encouraged to take whatever plastic they bring to the Islands back to the mainland with them for recycling; to help support our Islands' finite resources.

To find out more about the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World series check out their website.  If you want to know more about the Scilly Swimrun Event, or maybe even sign up (!) you can find that information here.

If, like us, you admire what participants do, but don't have the stamina or determination to take part in the swimrun why not keep an eye out for more information regarding the beach clean and come and join us for that?!
